I would propose that there’s no room for a Silicon Valley in Massachusetts (physically or psychically), as opposed to California’s 64% population growth since 1980, Mass has grown a paltry 17%… for a new industry to thrive there has to be room to grow, both physically and psychically. Massachusetts also is the poster state for conservative New England culture…a generation ago the Bay Area was the site for Acid Tests. What other part of the country allows for that kind of “crazy” experimentation?(I don’t even know how I would quantitatively analyze cultural flexiblity as a precursor for next generation business success, but that’s what I’m proposing…I would use the example of Detroit as a prime liquor importing state in from 1920–1930, about 20 years before it peaked in 1950)

The main challenge is to convince that you have the relevant skills. In my opinion a Silicon Valley HR would be more convinced if you could provide some reference in that company. Alumni or professors, who are aware of you, should be happy to provide reference.Few Skills that are desired in a candidateTechnical Skills- Matter a lot. It would help if you created any websites, apps during graduation. It would also help if you are a part of opensource. Even if you didnt do any of those, its OK. At least have a firm understanding of the technology that you are interested in. If you are a fresher, have a crude understanding of a lot of things, such as - Oracle is for managing data, Java is for applications, and .Net is also for applications but a different flavor. There are a lot of things you can get an basic idea of. If you are experienced, then you should be thorough in your technology.Personality - Matters a lot. At that firm, you will work with people from all over the world, and the kind of person you are is very important. Even under tense situations, you are expected to be calm, analytic, and supportive.Communication skills - matter to a lesser extent, because you will be coding more and presenting less. Still, you should talk confidently and clearly. Your Grades - Matter. You get A's only if you "get" the content. Your grades will explain and give proof on your foundation. Your projects will give proof on your practical knowledge.One piece of Advice - Prepare fully. Don't go to an interview if you aren't prepared. You will just waste time.Keep good company or avoid bad company, if you want to get a job, study, create programs on your laptop, and impress the heck out of the recruiter. Important: Don't be disappointed if you don't get an offer. From a personal experience, my friend who graduated and did higher studies from elite institutions, was a weeping mess, when she did not get the desired company.Have a life outside work.

Please clarify what you mean by "their" homes.   Do you mean a home owned by someone else and rented by a tenant?   Yes, people who don't own places are occasionally obliged to move on, but in most parts of the country that is the difference between ownership and renting, and is a matter of contract..Or do you mean homes which are part-owned by a financial institution (i.e. mortgaged), and the part owner is forced to leave for not servicing the debt obligation.  Yes, that is what happens, by mutual contract.Or people who are forced out of homes they own due to not paying property taxes?  Yes, that happens, and is part of the social contract.So if the question is "are people unfairly evicted in Silicon Valley", I would say the incidence is exceedingly low.Sadly, I have seen the eviction process in action.  A homeowner in my community was ordered to vacate as a result of a divorce .  She then proceeded to use legal process and a lengthy set of appeals (all of which were denied) to stay in the home for ten (yes, ten!) years after the initial ruling.  Eventually the state supreme court declared her a vexatious litigant (look it up), the local court gave her 90 days to vacate, and around day 110 the sheriff's deputies and a moving van showed up.   Having witnessed some of this, and read through court filings, I have to say she received more than her fair share of due process...

Honestly the best use of your two weeks would be to find an apartment so you can move here.  Silicon Valley is something you need to live to really reap the benefits from.Short of that though, you can find a lot of startup events and parties on meetup.com.  There are some happening every day.  Also, send emails to the founders of startup a you are interested in ahead of time.  Tell them your situation and that you would like 20 minutes of their time to pick their brains.  At least half should be willing and you will have the opportunity to form some lasting connections and build the foundation for your network.As to meeting with angel investors or VCs, best of luck, they probably won't respond to your emails, but don't worry, you aren't missing out much by not meeting with them.On a side note, I would be more than happy to meet with you myself, if you would like.
