I have a class lesson assessment form that I need to have filled out for 75 lessons. The form will be exactly the same except for the course number. How would you do this?
Another way would be to use the option of getting pre-filled answers with the course numbers entered. A custom URL is created and the form would collect the answers for all of the courses in the same spreadsheet. Not sure if that creates another problem for you, but you could sort OR filter the sheet once all the forms had been submitted. This is what the URL would look like for a Text Box https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Ia6-paRijdUOn8U2L2H0bF1yujktcqgDsdBJQy2yO30/viewform?entry.14965048=COURSE+NUMBER+75 The nice thing about this is you can just change the part of the URL that Contains "COURSE+NUMBER+75" to a different number...SO for course number 1 it would be https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Ia6-paRijdUOn8U2L2H0bF1yujktcqgDsdBJQy2yO30/viewform?entry.14965048=COURSE+NUMBER+1This is what the URL would look like for a Text Box radio button, same concept. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Ia6-paRijdUOn8U2L2H0bF1yujktcqgDsdBJQy2yO30/viewform?entry.14965048&entry.1934317001=Option+1 OR https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Ia6-paRijdUOn8U2L2H0bF1yujktcqgDsdBJQy2yO30/viewform?entry.14965048&entry.1934317001=Option+6The Google Doc would look like this Quora pre-filled form I'm not sure if this helps at all or makes too complicated and prone to mistakes.
Should I mention that I made a mistake on the old DS160 form application while filling out a new form? Is it better not to talk about this mistake except if raised during the visa interview?
You can edit your DS 160 before you go for your finger print verification. But if you feel you are too late to edit the DS160, better do not edit.I made couple of mistakes in DS160 which I recognized after my finger prints.I was in great tense during my visa interview about the mistakes and the visa officer asked me regarding my mistakes and I admitted that I made mistakes honestly and then I answered the questions without hesitation. My visa got approved. I feel DS160 is a kind of form to understand your intention for the visa you apply.I feel you should not worry about the mistakes you did before the interview, if your intentions are clear you should not worry much.Wish you all the best for your interview.
What is the most annoying part of filling out job application forms?
I have been searching for full-time jobs for the past month. That’s thirty-plus days of dealing with applications in a city that doesn’t offer much for someone with my skill set. Here’s what drives me nuts:When I have to attach a résumé only to then manually fill out all of the information about my education and past work. Why? I typed it all out and formatted it for you already, plus my version is nicely designed. When one application takes half an hour to fill out. This is incredibly inefficient when you’re doing multiple applications. The longer it takes me to fill out a form, the more I boost my salary requirements. When the same application asks you the same questions over and over again on different sub-forms. You already have my sex, race, and veteran status. Why ask in five different spots? When the form says you’ll hear back in five to seven business days. That’s a full week. I need a job as soon as possible! Don’t you want to hire people? Isn’t that why we’re doing this? When an application tells you it wants a recent college graduate with five years of experience in management, a business degree with a liberal arts minor, two years of medical residency, ten years of pest control receptionist experience, and proficiency in signNow Creative Suite plus juggling skills. Who is this job even for? How in the world do you expect to find someone who meets all of these requirements? Why would someone devote their life to getting experience in menial, underpaid work just to one day be your dream candidate?I didn’t make up the pest control thing, by the way. This pest control place wouldn’t even hire someone as a receptionist unless that person had been working for a different pest control place previously. NO exceptions. Sorry to burst your bubble, but people don’t dedicate their lives to getting enough experience in pest control reception to come meet your requirements and make $12 an hour. Dream on.
As a teacher, what is the scariest thing you've seen a student do?
I owned and ran a large daycare in my home for 20 years. I played with and educated hundreds of children. Here is a list of a few of the scariest things I have been through. Oh, and in 20 years I only suggested to the parents of 7 children that their children might be happier somewhere else.1. Walked into the kitchen to find water streaming into the kitchen from the kitchen window. I run outside and find a set of twins holding my hose turned on full blast into my kitchen and laughing at the top of their lungs.2. Same children, this time both of them are peeing in the big box of Stuffies. And laughing.I talked to the parents about these two every single day because they were not listening and were giving me a very hard time and each parent separately would say “ there's nothing wrong with them. When we have them, they obey us perfectly” and then I would watch them chase those kids back and forth in the front yard yelling “Come back here, give me your hands! come back here!”.They got to find a daycare where they would be happier.3. I had a girl, preschool age who would rock against the front bar in her highchair and sexually excite herself every day at lunch. Then after nap she would creep around and try to injure the animals and weirdly spy on people. She would also hurt people, kids and adults. Her mother wanted her to have a bigger education so she put her in a preschool only to have her get kicked out every day so her mom would have to pick her up and bring her back to my house. Every day. I spoke to her mom about symptoms of abuse, she denied anything was going on.4. One of the nicest, friendliest children was an absolute magnet for injuries. One day he fell off the indoor jungle gym. When he sat up his wrist was bent in a way that no wrist should be. He grabbed it and flapped it and went “Aaarrrhhh!!!” and set it! Then his mom took him to the ER for X Rays and a cast.A year later he's back at the hospital with a hair from my son's tarantula in his eye.Two years after that I watched him jump down a hill and get up with a stick through his foot.
Is it legal to have an unregistered off-the-grid (no birth certificate) baby in the USA?
I was actually roommates with someone in College whose parents decided to have him “off-grid”. Let me just say this: Stop even entertaining the idea of having a baby off-grid. It really makes your child’s life unnecessarily hard and your kid will forever resent you for putting that pain on them.I’ll get into the details in a moment, but first let me address the question proposed above. Yes, technically speaking it is not a crime to have your baby off-the-grid in the U.S.A. However, a lot of details surrounding the event would be illegal. First of all, any licensed midwife or doctor is required by law to file a birth certificate or they actually risk losing their license and getting a misdemeanor. If you forced them or threatened them to not file the birth certificate that would make you a likely accomplice and would not go over well with the authorities. But let’s ignore that for a moment and just assume you know how to birth a child on your own and can do it in your basement without any professional medical physician there to oversee you (which would be the only way you could pull this off). In this case you wouldn’t get thrown in jail for failing to get a birth certificate and no crime would have been committed. However you just set up a very difficult life for your child. These are some of the things I was told from by my roommate who didn’t have a social security number until he was 20 years old.No, he could not get a (legal) jobQuite literally he didn’t qualify to get even a job at McDonalds. If you remember the last job you got no matter how prestigious or demeaning it was, you had to fill out a bunch of paperwork. Most of these forms require you to have a SSN (social security number) to properly fill them out. However the important one is the form labeled I-9. This form is required to be submitted by every employer after hiring a new employee. This form serves only one purpose, to determine that you are eligible to work in the United States. Your child (and my roommate) would not be able to complete this form which every employer must get filled out before starting employment with a new employee. Your child will not be able to get a job because of this.Yes, he can evade paying taxes.Okay, so this sounds like a perk I guess. But my roommate did not have to pay taxes. The government basically didn’t know he existed, so they never knew he was not paying. But then again he didn’t have a job. So would you rather have a job and pay some taxes or not ever be able to work except under the table for below minimum wage? Given that choice, taxes sound pretty awesome! Keep in mind that this also means your child is not eligible for any tax benefits or credits such as those that students get while going to college. No, You as the parent can not claim him as a dependent on your taxesYou’re already dealing with a child, wouldn’t it be great to get that child tax credit? Every year you'll basically be paying out of pocket for deciding not to get them a SSN.Yes, he can attend public school through 12th gradeHe would be able to attend school through high school without a social security number. No, he can not attend collegeWhile high school and lower education is okay, your child will never be able to attend collegeYes, he can go to the doctorThe doctor will still see your child and provide him his shots. However…No, he will not be covered under your family insurance (or qualify for Medicare/Medicaid)So you’ll need to plan on paying for all doctor appointments out of pocket. No, he can not travel abroad (even to Canada)You’d best hope none of your child’s friends decide to go to Cancun for spring break. Your child will not be eligible to leave the country or return to the US if he manages to leave (unless he plans to climb Trump’s wall)No, he will not be able to drive a carOkay, well nothing is stopping him from physically driving a car, but he would not be able to get a driver’s license and thus, can not LEGALLY drive. Hope he doesn’t get pulled over. No, he will not be able to voteOnce old enough he will not be able to register to vote.Yes, he can avoid the draftWell the good news is that like taxes, he can skirt the requirement to join the draft when he turns 18.No, he can’t get a loanThis means no credit cards, no car loan, no home, nothing. I’m sure plenty of people will claim these are all evil anyway, but these have powerful impacts on someone’s life. There might be times he needs it. (and when used properly none of these are bad things). No, he will not have a credit scoreThis goes with the above one, but he will not be able to work on this which affects your entire life/future. This also will disqualify him from renting most homes or apartments he is looking at.Basically your child will be treated as an illegal immigrant. Why put them through this when they are entitled to the benefits that the United States provides its citizens? There are people in other countries dying to get what your child is entitled to and you are (considering) denying your child those abilities? It just doesn’t make sense.Get them a SSN and if your child decides at 20 that he wants to live off-the-grid than he can burn his Social Security Card and go in the woods and hide from the government. But don’t be selfish enough to make that decision for them.My roommate resents his parents for not giving him a SSN. While all his friends in high school were driving, he couldn’t. While his friends go to Cancun for spring break, he had golden handcuffs in the U.S. and can’t leave. And worst of all he said was that while all his friends were earning money from jobs in high school, he couldn’t get a job.The job part was the hardest for him. He couldn’t leave the house or move out when he turned 18. He was stuck at home.Him working on getting a social security number was difficult and took him two years. He started when he turned 18 to get one once he realized he couldn’t go to college, he couldn’t get a job, he couldn’t rent an apartment, and thus will never really be able to be independent from his parents. It took two years and then at 20 he was able to get one and start working and going to school. He forever resented his parents. Don’t be those parents…
What is the most absurd rule you ever had to follow at work?
Ha! In working for a hospital, I see a lot of stupid rules. For instance, on one wintery midnight shift I was let in by a security guard in the front of the building. I was wearing my proper photo identification front and center, my work clothes, and I had been doing this for years with no trouble. Then, when the security guy asked if I was a temp, and I replied in the affirmative, he told me I had to go back outside, walk the mile around the hospital to the back hospital entrance (which isn't well-lit and goes past woods), and he'd buzz me in. He said the other security guards weren't enforcing the rules. However, he couldn't explain the reason for this rule and he wouldn't tell me his supervisor's name. Eventually, he just let me in and told me to follow the rules next time. I made sure to tell him very sweetly that I would be sure to call for him each and every single time I needed a security escort to my car parked in the proper lot and to that back entrance. He was going to have to protect little old me and walk alongside me every time I called for an escort. I'm not sure if I was a catalyst, but that rule was gone in a week.Another time security rules were an unnecessary hassle was regarding my id before we had photo IDs. We had our name tags, but at the gate you had to show a photo id. No problem. I had my passport ready and showed the guard. Instead of waving me on, he told me to pull off and show my driver's license. That's right-- A U.S. Passport was not good enough id for this guard! I couldn't believe it! If I remember correctly, I had to have three forms of identification to get a passport and it is also a photo id. My driver's license required far less identification. The story did end happily because I do also carry my license, but it was an unnecessary stop for both me and the security guard. I still laugh about how it's easier to get into the country than it is to get into my hospital. It's not even the WHO headquarters in which they have deadly diseases to worry about. It's a long-term care nursing hospital. Do they think terrorists are going to try to infiltrate the hospital to kidnap pap or granny? Lol.Then, there was the smoking escort policy. My hospital has a little smoke shack for patients outside the hospital. It's kept warm with heaters and patients frequently chain smoke out there for as long as they can. That's fine for them, but I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. There's a hallway still in the building in which one can see through the windows and scramble outside as necessary to prevent runaways and so on. No, I was told. I either had to be inside the smoke shack or be outside in winter in nothing but my short-sleeve scrub top for minutes to hours. (Hoodies and jackets were also forbidden during duties). When the nurse in charge told me that, I told him the only way I was going into that shack was with an epi-pen in hand. They could charge me with all the insubordination they liked, but I was waiting for my patient indoors. That policy changed shortly after that to allow nurses who did smoke to take patients to the smoke shack for nonsmokers.
How many knives does the average home cook need?
3.Here are mine. The top one is a J.A Henckels Zwilling 8″ chefs knife. I use it for everything. I would be fine if this was the only knife I owned. If you are a newbie cook, you may think this is too big for general use. You are wrong. Learn the “tip fulcrum” method (google it) and you will see why you need a knife this size. I can do everything from debone a chicken to julienne vegetables with it. It's a relatively expensive knife for a home cook (ball park $100usd) but it will last a life time.Below this is a Sabatier Stellar bread knife. I like to eat sourdough bread and buy it from a baker so it needs slicing. This is pretty much only ever used to cut bread. It is a fairly cheap knife, and I never sharpen it. It cuts bread and nothing else.Below that is a Sabatier Lion 3″ paring knife. This is actually a pretty good knife which is good for doing really fiddly things when I am trying to impress the ladies, but it's most commonly used by me for opening packets, trimming fat from meat and poking at things to see if they care cooked. It was reasonably inexpensive.I have loads more knives but I literally never use them.If I was on a limited budget I would buy the best 8″ chefs knife I could, and something to sharpen it with.I use this to sharpen my knivesIt was really cheap and works well.I get the 8″ bad boy professionally sharpened every couple of years. It's about 10 years old now and I use it every day.To store it, I have a knife guard so the edge is protected, and I keep it really sharp so it is safer. The other knives are stored in a wooden block from ikea.If I say so myself, I am a pretty good home cook. I've cooked for professional chefs before and every one of them has offered me a job in their kitchen, and I think they were only half joking. If you need more knives than these you are probably a pro.The only other knife I would like would be a flexible filleting knife for filleting fish. I fillet a fish maybe once a month so it hardly seems worth the expense. The 8″ chefs knife works, but I'm sure it would be easier with the proper tool.
