Operations for Shuttle was almost exclusively done by USA and they provided most of the people for ISS, too.  Each group might have 10 USA employees, 2 NASA employees, and a NASA group lead.  Those two NASA positions were usually filled via the co-op program, but once in a while, NASA would get permission from the government to open a position for an experienced person.  Experienced contractors would apply, and if one was selected that person would undergo a badge conversion.  I was fortunate enough to be one of those people.  I swapped my USA badge for a NASA badge, but little else changed.  I kept the same desk, the same phone number, and the same tasks, I just filled out a different timecard system and no longer had a contractor boss.

Went antique shopping, drapery shopping, designed, printed, and framed custom advertising posters, and painstakingly carried delicate artwork to the set.Worked with collaborators to design and repeatedly fine-tuned a slideshow presentation (using Prezi).Waited up, till 5am, for my Toronto actors, as they drove through a snowstorm, from Toronto, also getting held for questioning at the Canadian border for over an hour.Rewarded the actors (who all showed up) with the best damn catering I could find, Smokey Legend BBQ.Begged and pleaded for a Dean to not halt my production when it turned out there was a weekend meeting going on downstairs.Apologized profusely for the shoot running a little late on the final day, slight damage to some paint, and a broken frame belonging to the lead actress.Covered actor travel expenses as necessary.Sent the Dean a gift basket in apology.Pleaded a pet store owner to allow me to film one more scene at his store.Apologized profusely to the pet store owner when the shoot ran 40 minutes later than expected, due to film equipment issues.Invested in tens of thousands of dollars worth of film equipment, and keep adding to my arsenal. Whatever improves the cinematic experience.Built a new computer from scratch to help me do 4k video editing with reasonable speed.Spent a month doing video editing.Spent another month doing color grading.Applied for multiple grants to help cover post-production costs for Karma, attending multiple seminars on grant-writing. With no success for this film.Pestered a very talented and generous composer for over two months to score my film with great music.Paid a professional to clean up sound in my film, add cool sound effects, and get everything sounding clean, apologizing profusely for microphone rustling issues, working with him for an additional month and a half to figure out how to get it cleaned up with additional takes, sound effects, music, and tweaks.Paid a visual effects artist nearly a thousand to clean up a flicker issue from a projector in a major scene, after trying my best to clean it up myself, then having dozens of Upwork contractors work with samples, and ultimately going back and forth with the guy I chose for quite a long time to make it presentable.Learned how to do a number of things with signNow After Effects, with having text "handwritten" across the screen, adding in a "ripple effect" in the background when a spell went off, giving a cell phone screen a sharper image, and individually removing dozens of bits of lens/sensor dirt and backward-floating dust particles from the screen.Had my first screening, which ended up with iffy sound in my friend's bedroom (where his projector was), enduring a bit of a quiet reception.Paid a bunch of film festival application fees.I received the first draft of the script from my collaborator on April 29th, 2016, and announced that the film was done on July 8th, 2017, so the whole effort took over 13 months.And this was all while I was working full time, commuting to classes at The Actor's Workshop of Ithaca (to help improve my directing mainly), and planning for my next film (Toddler Tartare), preparing the best crowdfunding video I’ve ever seen…That took three shoot days at a bunch of locations and a lot of people. I haven't lost steam!I'm working hard to improve my knowledge of lighting, greenscreening. I've researched and experimented a ton with camera and audio equipment. Maybe producing? I get into smaller film festivals, but I'm doing everything I can to constantly improve, and get to the point where I can compete in larger film festivals.
