I used to perform six hours duty and in next six hours of rest, I used to study for three hours and sleep for three hours. When i was in last year of the graduation, I attempted both simultaneously, the CDS exam and final year. I Passed both but got rejected in SSB. I had come to Allahabad from Andaman islands for SSB. Having been rejected, I decided not to show face to my father and went back to port Blair to be back with unit. I had one more chance . This time again I passed CDS and made it at SSB Bhopal.As I found my name in the list, I kept the happiness hidden as there were other candidates who were depressed as they could not make it.The first call I made was to my Commanding Officer. He was waiting for the news. I could hear him making announcement on PA system in unit lines about my selection. He ordered me “ Last time after you failed at SSB Allahabad, you didn't go on leave. Now proceed on two weeks leave from Bhopal. Spend time with family. After leave report at Chennai. I will have you flew in air force cargo plane to Port Blair.”I picked up my bag and left SSB centre for railway station. There was some hours left for departure of the train. It was drizzling. I went and sat in solitude at Lake Bhojtal. Closed eyes and thanked god for having bestowed on me what I dreamt. On the way, found shop selling army uniform and accessories.signNowed next day hometown of Aurangabad. Father and Mother were surprised at sudden appearance of me. I had smaller luggage. I used to always bring a defence made whiskey for father. This time I asked him to close eyes. I placed in his handIt took seconds for him to know what was it. He stood up like a young man and embraced me and started weeping. The joy of tears. The news was out in our village that someone first time is going to become officer in army. Two days later my birthday was celebrated amidst the entire village.I left after my leave was over. I reported back to Chennai. He said “ I am sorry to inform you that your father has passed away. I am sanctioning you leave again. After rituals, report directly for training at OTA”. He personally dropped me at Port Blair Airport, never to be seen again later”.

Many implanted devices will have a pamphlet explaining the MRI risks for that particular device. If you have the pamphlet, it is useful to bring that to the attention of the technologist or scheduler before the exam. 3. Some implanted devices require a short period of time after placement (usually six weeks) before being safe for MRI examinations. Foreign bodies near and especially lodged in the eyes are particularly important. 8. Dyes used in tattoos may contain iron and could heat up during MRI, but this is rarely a problem. 9. Tooth fillings and braces usually are not affected by the magnetic field, but they may distort images of the facial area or brain, so the radiologist should be aware of them.10. Jewelry and other accessories should be left at home if possible, or removed prior to the MRI scan. Because they can interfere with the magnetic field of the MRI unit, metal and electronic objects, they are not allowed in the exam room. In most cases, an MRI exam is safe for patients with metal implants, except for a few types. Depends on the setting and the student.     In US public schools, after all the initial paperwork is done, the SLP typically plays with the child and tries to elicit some speech from him/her.    It's important to know what the child's spontaneous utterances sound like and how those utterances parse.    Unless the evaluation includes a hearing evaluation performed by an audiologist, the SLP will do a hearing screening on the child to see if such an audiological evaluation is warranted. If the child's developmental level permits, the SLP will administer some standardized tests which involve a lot of pointing at pictures and saying things in response to pictures.   With very young children, there are even a few standardized tests that involve object manipulation and parent report.    Standardized tests can be used to sample a lot of speech sounds and a number of specific language skills in a short time, and are also useful in comparing the child's performance to the performance of the (hopefully large number of) children in the norming sample that is used to create the test.   Finally, standardized tests provide scores that can qualify a child for school-based speech therapy under state and federal laws.    The SLP will also examine the child's mouth.    The SLP will have the child say "ahh" so he can check for the movement of the faucal pillars (those arch-like structures that flank the space between the teeth and the back of the throat) and soft palate (aka the velum, from which our wriggly little uvulas hang), which helps us make "k" and "g" and also separates the oral and nasal cavities so our speech doesn't sound too nasal.   The tongue will also be checked.    How high can it be raised?    How far down can it go?   Can it sweep from side to side?   There may be tongue-tie, but this condition isn't as common as most people seem to believe, and doesn't affect all speech sounds.   The SLP will also be interested in whether the hard palate is intact. and whether the way that the teeth are configured represent any obvious obstacles to making certain sounds.    I've made the oral exam sound complex, but in the initial exam, it's a screening that doesn't take very long and involves nothing more invasive than the occasional use of a tongue depressor. If the child just doesn't DO standardized tests, the SLP may play with the child with a tape recorder nearby, or better yet a video camera with a microphone, to record a speech and language sample.   Such a sample can useful for evaluating everything from pronunciation to sentence structure to stuttering to voice production.   The parent is almost always present during the evaluation, especially if the child is very young.    If the parent is a distraction, he/she can watch from behind a 2-way mirror if the facility is well-funded enough, or sit behind and away from the child if the setting doesn't have two-way mirrors.   But I generally have parents in the room with me during the evaluation, since their presence makes the child more comfortable. After the evaluation, the SLP will probably talk to the parent about the observations, but evaluating test results and language samples takes time, and will have to wait for a subsequent meeting.   There are legends floating around that this kind of testing is highly stressful for most children, but in the real world, this only happens if the child is extremely shy, which is not common in my experience.    For most kids, the testing is just another set of activities that the grownups have them do.    Children like getting little rewards such as stickers for doing this kind of work.  BUT if you're dealing with a very young child, say three years old or younger, you may be dealing with a child who gets antsy, sleepy, or clingy after about a half hour of testing.    A wise SLP will spread the testing out over a number of days for such a child, with no more than 30 minutes of testing on a given day.   Obviously, the procedures I have outlined don't work on EVERY child.    For example, children with motor disorders that are signNow enough to prevent speech and impair signalling should be tested by SLP's who specialize in augmentative and alternative communication.   Another example:   If pronunciation and spoken language tests that are designed for and normed on blind children are not available, the SLP may need to depend heavily on his/her analysis of the speech/language sample.   For children with complex needs, the SLP may simply be one of a number of specialists who test the child.   In hospital settings, the team may include an M.D. and mostly Ph.D's.     In school settings, it is rare for an M.D. to be part of the team and most of the specialists have Masters' degrees.   But I've seen good evals from schools and bad ones from hospitals--and vice versa.  And school personnel can get relevant medical information if the parent signs a consent for mutual exchange of information between the relevant doctors and the school team.   I hope that I've alleviated any anxiety you may have, and wish you and yours all the best.
