This particular unit was bringing great money and someone had 8 of them on a parts locator service I subscribed to at the time. Seeing an opportunity, I called and the man who answered identified himself as “Scott New”.His price was good so I committed to buying all 8 units. I offered him an AMEX card and stated that I’d pay the 3% to cover the fees for him. He declined to take that as payment with the flimsy excuse that his CC servicer had problems with large amounts. Bullshit. I’d taken cards for $20+K installs before with no problems. GRR.So, I told him to ship them COD to me on my UPS account. Nope, he has to pay his vendor and they can’t drop ship to me, only to him. I must pay by wire or cashier’s check. This was on a Friday afternoon. I agree to prepay for 2 of the 4 units if he’ll ship them from Miami to my brother in law’s shop in the Tampa Bay area for evaluation. I send him $4000 for the first 2 of 8 units.Over the weekend, I had spare time and looked up his business on the Florida Sec. of State’s website. It is owned by Scott Pi—-g. I know that name. He was infamous in our industry. He had worked for a big outfit in NY state. He “sold” their equipment to a bunch of overseas buyers but didn’t actually own it. He had scans of documents related to the overhaul of such equipment, total times in service and other FAA type paperwork and represented them as his own. He took their money and they got nothing. Well, he got caught. And his name was very recognizable in my industry. I suppose the new surname of “New” somehow was his way of hiding in plain sight?So, I spent the weekend freaking out. $4000 isn’t chump change, after all. I called my BIL and told him to call as soon as they arrived at his shop on Monday. I called my rep at the locator service and told him that Pi—-g was back and using his service AGAIN. He called the FBI.The units, surprisingly, arrived at the shop. They were fine but I was NOT going to spend another $12,000 so Scott could finish scamming me on the flip side. So, he called and I called him by his full name. ::Crickets:: I told him that my BIL would be in Miami Wednesday morning with a cashier’s check to cover his vendor payment and to retrieve the units. He said: “Okay.” A few hours later, he calls and says that his vendor had scrapped the other 6 units as BER (beyond economical repair) and they were no longer available.Hah! By that time, the Feds were on their way to his office and he was put back in prison on my birthday in 2007. Best gift ever.I google him from time to time and the scamming never ends with this one. Rip off report showed him scamming vacation packages in 2009, I think. Why can’t people just make an honest living?I sold the 2 units he actually supplied at a good profit but almost lost $12,000 in the process.

That’s reasonable, as the park restaurants have to turn a profit, but they go to extremes. No food and water includes, lets say a 500 ml bottle of tap water, or a butterfinger you got at a gas station for 78 cents. They allow nothing, so you have to buy their shitty $40 pizzas or their $4 Dasani bottles so you don’t starve or dehydrate.Oh, you want some water but the security confiscated your bottle? Fuck you, pay me. You want some food but don’t want to go broke? Fuck you, pay me. You don’t want to spend 1 hour for a ride that lasts 30 seconds? Fuck you, pay me.(What is the difference between the Mob and the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation? One is an organized racket filled with greedy rats that have the intention of making as much money possible, without any concern for people, the other is the Mob)It does get worse. Down in Georgia, summer temperatures can go to more than 100 degrees. The lack of air conditioned areas makes it god awful, as you are covered in sweat, and need water, so you end up spending 10–15 dollars on water just so you don’t die. The employees are awful. If I were to say that employees at Six Flags are lazy, incompetent, and fucking stupid, I would be complementing them. I waited 40–50 minutes in line just to get some food. The line wasn’t even long, the people running it were slow. Ever seen the movie Zootopia? Remember the scene with the DMV filled with sloths? WELL I’D RATHER HAVE FUCKING SLOTHS RUNNING IT THAN THESE PRICKS!And this isn’t a rant against amusement parks in general, as I would argue the Universal Studio parks in Orlando are better. Yes, they are more expensive, and the lines are long, but I don’t recall them being as long. Plus, Universal Studios is more clean and efficiently run. They don’t treat bottles of water or cans of coke like hand grenades, and they don't pat you down to find one. There are much more air conditioned areas in case you can’t handle the Florida weather. I also remember how even though the line in the food court was several fold larger than the line at Six Flags, but we managed to obtain and pay for our food in a fraction of the time.Anyways, fuck Six Flags. I hope they go bankrupt again and don’t recover.(Cool fact, did you know the name Six Flags comes from the original park in Arlington, Texas called Six Flags over Texas. That name comes from the six flags representing the 6 nations (Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the Confederate States of America, and the United States of America) that once controlled parts or all of Texas. Coincidentally, six is also the amount of flagpoles I wish the CEO of Six Flags would shove up his, well, you know.
