Mind you, this is during the heavy morning commute time in Tokyo. Then he walked me back onto the train platform where I got off. He explained to me, “You got off one station too early. This is 西荻窪 (Nishiogikubo).”Aaaaaah. It sort of… made sense. I was in a panicked state. I was afraid I’d be late for school. The next train came and slid into the station.I thought he was going to see me off then, but amazingly, he stepped into the train with me, holding my hand. He rode that one-station ride with me, so he could make sure I’d arrive safely to the “north exit” I was looking for.We arrived at my intended station, Kichijōji. He got off with me, then walked me to the booth at… you guessed it, the north exit. I’d stopped crying, but I could barely thank him.
