Why start the audience off at the far end of the universe? Marvel took 10 years to shift toward cosmic stories.I would recast the Justice League and focus on Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Powergirl, etc. . An earth bound origin ensemble film in the same spirits as Jame’s Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy and use cast of non enhanced characters.It’s not about not being dark or adding color. It’s about the humanity in the characters, well known or not. The DRAW is that they are superheroes, well known or not. Guardians enjoyed initial success because of faith in the Marvel brand. A Batman who kills Hispanic gamgbabgers by colluding with other murderers in jail? And he lets the Joker and Harley Quinn run amok? Zack Snyder doesn’t even have short term practical logic let alone an understanding of the legacy and source material.He has great visceral aesthetic and I appreciate his attention to detail. But I consider his work a hack- stringing together series of iconic moments from epic stores but stripping them of their origi al backstory to fit them in a poorly conceived DCEU cinematic universe build out.Start fresh and try to think of the incubating and not being fearful of developing lesser known characters.
