We all believe in them, their vision. Also Google, Amazon, Twitter, Facebook are darlings of this generation.Diversification - Investing in foreign companies helps in diversification. It has probably been explained in several different ways here, but having had an FFL for over 15 years, then giving it up because I no longer wanted, or needed the FFL any more, I have been involved, have orginized and run gun shows and been a seller at more gun shows then I can recall. Here is where the anti-gun folks get their ammo, say I was a gun dealer, and when I went out of business, I simply wrote all the guns in stock as sold to myself, which a dealer can, or could back when I was a dealer do.So here I am with say 25 rifles, and 15 hand guns, ten thousand rounds of ammo and perhaps 100 knives of different types and sizes, additionally I may well have a couple dozen slings, some but plates for rifles, and maybe some custom grips for .45’s and the like. Now there is no way I want to hold on to all these guns and such, so I begin showing them as a collector (unlicensed dealer sort of) at gun shows. Since I no longer hold an FFL, I no longer need to do the paperwork. You come to my table, and want to buy that new pistol laying on my table, you peal off six 100 dollar bills and a 50 to boot, and I give you the gun, no background check, no paperwork, and that, my friend, is that gunshow loophole that the liberals and MSNBC have been screaming about! As far as I know, now this has been stopped by most gun show hosts, who require that collectors must have the people purchasing cleared by a licensed dealer before a deal can be completed, however I am not sure about that last, just something I heard at coffee the other day from a friend. There is nothing, so far as I know, in the Federal Law books that requires me, as a gun collector, though from advertising in the paper that I have a pistol for sale, and selling it to someone who answers my add, and comes to my door with cash in hand. This would be the same as if I were selling him a laptop computer, or a pocket knife, or even a loaf of home baked bread for that matter. After all a firearm is just property, and property can be sold, bartered, or traded for other goods or cash unless you are a licensed firearms dealer. The last 2 gun shows I hosted many of my fellow dealers had given up their FFL’s and sent their books and papers to the Fed, then continued as collectors selling and buying guns at gun shows just like before but without all the paperwork hassles and most loved it.As far as ordering guns online, sure you can buy them a gunbroker.com, or one of the auction houses but they must be sent to a FFL dealer and registered through his books, with the background check and all. The days of mail order guns went with the Kennedy assignation backlash. Oh for the good old days when you could buy a German Mauser for $19.99 from the pages of Saga magazine. Oh I see he US is going to release a bunch of old M1911A1’s through the civilian marksmanship program, wonder how much for those old warhorses?

To trade in the stock market you need to have a BANK a/c, TRADING a/c and DEMAT a/c.When the shares are traded,Money flows from—Buyer’s Bank a/c → Buyer’s Trading a/c → Seller’s Trading a/c → Seller’s Bank a/cAnd shares flow from—Seller’s Demat a/c → Buyer’s Demat a/cTherefore unless you have a—bank account you can’t purchase stockstrading account you can’t trade (buy/sell) stocksdemat account you can’t store the shares boughtI hope the linkage between them is cleared!Reference links:1. You have two choices (actually three choices). First, as a few of the other responders have mentioned, you can transfer the shares or the entire account over to the cheaper broker. The cheaper broker should provide you with the paperwork.Second option, which is almost impossible these days, is to have your current broker issue the shares in certificate form, open the account with the new broker, and send the certificate to them, then sell the shares. The reason why this is so difficult is that most brokers will no longer issue certificates to their clients (you may have an edge if you have an extremely large account). Also, the few brokers that do will charge a certificate issuance fee ranging from $50 to $125. This will probably be way more than the cost of the commission savings. Also, to get the certificate issued, it may take several weeks, and during that time the price of the stock could drop.Third option: call you current broker, tell them that you were thinking of transferring your account to another broker because of the high fees that are being charged to you. Ask them if they would be willing to lower their fees to what the cheap broker is offering or something close to it. If they won’t lower your commissions permanently, ask if they would lower it on a one time basis for this transaction.

This is an excellent question and there are many companies who believe they are shaping this answer (predominantly, SWIFT, Visa, Mastercard, WesternUnion, PayPal, and a whole lot of mobile companies).Very important note to the above, is an external player like say Facebook that can be a huge disruption in the money space, should it enter with a cunning plan, that is pragmatic, worldwide and affordable.Though it is very difficult to predict how the payment system will shape out in 5 years, especially between countries, it will most likely have the following touch points incorporated into it [I do want to stress, this is strictly IMHO - feel free to differ]:TRANSACTION & SETTLEMENT TIMES: The biggest change you would see is the ability to make the end-to-end transaction as near to real-time as possible for the two parties between which money is being remitted. The second factor is the near real-time settlement between the two financial institutions that were doing the remittance (i.e. Sender's Bank and Beneficiary's Bank).ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING: Money laundering would be more difficult (as more correlated reporting and systems integration of various financial institutions will make it so)KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER: The KYC would be inherently more advance. By more advance, I imply that the KYC system would be able to tap into periphery system to verify what as already been submitted. Eg: A credit card KYC may query your bank account for address verification / name match.MOBILE: Money would be more mobile than it is today, and you guessed it - it would reside in/on your phone. Your phone would be in some crude sense a financial instrument. Expect to see a sharp rise in QR Codes. No more lengthy forms to fill out for money transfer/payments.SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY REPORTING: SAR checks are currently performed in the US and in different countries (under various different nomenclature / taxonomy). To nib the money laundering bud, and to better have a more accurate visibility on suspicious transactions, it is my belief that SAR checks (albeit performed) would most likely also be cross-referenced across the border.FINANCIAL ROUTERS/ROUTING: More companies will prop up providing financial routing services. Take money from your PayPal and credit it to your ATM card. Take money from ATM card to credit to your Visa card, Take money from your Bank and credit the money to Micro-Wallet payment company. For example, if you want to transfer money from your Prepaid VISA card to PayPal (and they are not connected), you will be able to do so. Or if you are travelling overseas and you buy a Deutsche Telekom SIM card (that does payments as well) and you want to transfer $50 to it from your Bank, you will be able to do so.MONEY EXCHANGE COMPANIES: You traditional money exchange companies with walk-in customers will eventually consolidate and business for walk-in clients will diminish drastically.INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS (CROSS-BORDER): International payments would become much more easier (as KYC, AML check would be a whole lot better). The Person-to-Person element would become more common and speedier, economical and reliable.EXCHANGE RATE: You would get a whole lot more competitive exchange rate on your international transactions (I believe less than 1% exchange parity between Internbank and Open-Market rate).MICRO-PAYMENTS: Yes, the world will finally have a micropayment setup. One that allows micro-payments in multiple currencies.VIRTUAL CURRENCIES / CREDITS: More and more companies will start to offer exchange and settlement of virtual currencies and credits that may be specific to a social network, gaming network, etc. Even Bitcoins. This could also be part and parcel of the Financial Routers.

When I was twelve, my dad died. I have five siblings and we ranged at the time from seven years old to eighteen. The eldest was leaving for college that week, but came back and spent the year at home at my mom's request. Before Dad had been dead a whole month, my mom started sort-of dating a sort-of homeless guy (he had been homeless and then was living in an RV on someone's property as their caretaker) my family had helped before (we volunteered for years prior to this at the local homeless shelter).A month. Our father had died of unexpected of complications from heart attacks just a month prior. We four youngest didn't know what was going on at first and she didn't let our older two siblings know. All we knew was that almost every night mom would have us get in the van, and she'd be in her pajamas and robe, and we'd drive down to his place and she'd send us to go play in the yard while she "said goodnight" and "ministered" to him.Eventually she'd come out with a shit-eating smirk, load us up in the van and drive back home.Less than two months after that she moved him into the house and started claiming they were married to everyone. (They weren't.)Why this was so incredibly selfish was because we weren't allowed to grieve anymore after that. We all had to be happy because mom had a new boyfriend-then-husband, and we all felt like we couldn't even talk about Dad anymore. Mom still talked about him but only to force our good behavior, ie: "You are all such terrible children! Your father wanted you to be raised this way and I've sacrificed so much for you...!" He wasn't even a good stepdad. He could have been worse, sure, but he'd fight with mom then storm out of the house and she'd blame it on us.Less than six months after my dad died he and my mom went on a drive and left me to change a curtain rod. I was still twelve and very small for my age, and I couldn't signNow the curtain rod. I tried, hard, but I kept falling off the back of the couch. They got back and saw that I hadn't done it, so the step-dad kept saying to me "Hah, I knew you were useless." while laughing and repeating it over and over like it was hilarious. I lost my temper and said "You're just a fat old man!" (he was 13 years older than my mom so he seemed quite elderly to me.) He, in front of my mother who had been laughing at his denigration of my handyman attempts, grabbed me, shook me hard, and screamed in my face "You stupid little b***ch!" and stormed out of the house.Mom then spanked me for trying to ruin her marriage.I just wanted my dad back, but I couldn't even say that because what if it made the step-dad feel bad?

I am going to ignore your question and share 5 proven steps to get started investing.Starting your first investment is a lot like climbing a mountain. You’re starting from ground zero with a lot of enthusiasm, but when you realize you have to climb for days to get anywhere, that enthusiasm often turns into the feeling of being overwhelmed. But when it comes to your investing career, the weather conditions, metaphorically speaking, are terrible as well.Hold on! You have made a smart move to invest in Equity, popularly called as shares. Indian GDP is growing at 6%-7% per annum and as thumb-rule equities deliver return which is equal to GDP growth + Inflation. Equities are best investment vehicle used as a hedge against inflation.Hey! getting started with your first investments is not terribly difficult - Here's what I would do to start my first investment and build up to $1000, $2000, $10,000………permonth in "passive" income.SEBI regulated a tight charge over documents submission. So this makes it a most crucial step. Your names, dates, and signature should be identical on all of your submitted docs.Below are the exact 4 basic documents that one need to get registered as a stock trader with SEBI.PAN cardIdentity proof (Aadhar card, driving license etc)Bank statement (last 6 month)Cancelled chequeThese are the basic documents. However, in some rare case, additional documents are needed. Consult the broker for the same.In addition, you would also have to fill up the registration form to which the above documents would be attached (highlighted in next step). But where do you submit the damn documents? This is what I’m going to show you in step 2.Not only brokers help you to get your documents verified with SEBI, they also facilitate live trading in stock market. You can buy and sell stocks with just one call or one click (on trading app, platforms)What you’ve to do is contact a broker and deliver them registration form with above-attached documents. But still one should choose a broker with great attention. Some brokers charge so high that most of your profit is swallowed by their charges. An uncle of mine generated a brokerage of 1.5 lakh in 2 months on F&O trading. I was baffled after seeing his charge-sheet.When was the last time you read an investing book or an economic magazine article? Do your daily reading habits center around hot tips tweets, Facebook updates, or the directions on moneycontrol website? If you’re one of the countless people who doesn't make a habit of reading books and articles regularly, you might be missing out: reading has a signNow number of benefits on your investments and your market behavior.Step away from your computer stock screen for a little while, crack open a book, and replenish your soul for a little while.Below are 3 books which are highly recommended to beginners.Stocks to Riches: Insights on Investor Behavior (by Parag Parikh)My personal opinion: At my earlier days, I started reading highly suggested books but didn’t benefit more than this book. In my opinion, this book is a key to understanding other books. Just an extremely insightful book of great practical value that every investor, both beginners and the experienced, should read. No more words.Rich Dad Poor Dad (by Robert T. Kiyosaki)My personal opinion: This is my all time favorite. This book has also qualified for the Amazon Best Reads List – June’16. This book what made me understand the crux of value investing and spread a great message of how money makes money. The Little Book That Still Beats the Market (by Joel Greenblatt)Side Note: Still I’m finding this book to read. Also tried to buy this book on Amazon but not in stock. Contact me personally if you can endorse this book to me. I read summary and reviews of others on this book and find it interesting. He made the value investing simple by just following ROCE and ROE matrix.Edit: I finally got the book. However, when you’re done with above books. Try your luck on some more detailed books here - 11 books that will change the way you look at stock marketNow you’re all done. You got registered with a broker and learned about the stock market. The next step will show you how to stand out from everyone out there...What I like to do next is become a pro trader by tracking my performance, nearly daily.Well quoted by Anurag Bhatia in another answer of the same question.“Maintain a trading journal. Practice paper trading. Yes, you have to practice trading every day to be above average at it. Just like the world's best athletes practice every day”However, you don’t have to make a trading journal, if you’re registered with Zerodha. As they have an inbuilt Q platform to track daily, weekly, monthly……. performance. Get more of it here. This is the most important stage to make yourself a successful investor. Everyday tracks your profit and loss. You don’t have to give hours, 15 minutes will be enough. What you have to do is whenever you have a profit activate your flashback and figure out what made you invest in this share and mark that criterion as a good evaluator of share. And same applies to the loss position in opposite way. When you have traded for a couple of months, nearly daily and got great insights of the market, open up Q platform, track your past transaction and create an algorithm.…….and do whatever you need to cultivate maximum profit from stock market fluctuation.Create your strategy………Create your parameters……….Create your own disciples……….In-short, rely on yourself and trade like a boss. Don’t get influenced by other traders, instead, influence them by your moves. This is where the real money will be made. There are no shortcuts in this process...this is how it's done.Just remember one thing:Following others will not make you rich. Making others follow you will make you rich.Hit me up on my website if you need any help.Stay invested in Sensex or Nifty 50. Normally shares of this category don't tumble more than 5% per day. Exceptions are always there but it's better than mid or small cap stocks. Once you get some experience in the field, choose your stock by your own analysis and own strategy.Go for short term trading (although, I’m a great enemy of short term trading) but as a beginner, you’ll not invest much so you should try with a short run. If you invested for the long run, you’ll lose your interest in some time.Keep the volume of traded money equal to the money which will not make you unhappy, if you lost them.Don’t get trapped in the vicious circle of brokers, advisers…. If their advice are so much effective than they would have been trading shares, not selling their advice. Here’s the reality: You’re in a tough spot.Starting investment profitably for a layman is not easy, but if you’re willing to put in consistent effort, it can be done.I’ve shown you four of the most effective steps I know to get started investing for a newbie. I encourage you to just focus on above steps until you create a sound money making a portfolio. If you’re looking for a bigger guide (with an illustration of a stock), this might help you - How to start investing: A complete guide from "आहा..." to "oh! shit"If you’ve additional advice for newbies or have any sound investment strategy to share with others, I’d love to hear about them in the comments below.
