Period .If however you're looking at just TAMU and Baylor just to ‘go to college’, they are two totally different schools . Baylor is smaller, Baptist, conservative but has excellent degrees in many fields . TAMU is very good, ultra conservative, satellite campuses all over the world but again go where your major is . What is different about this college compared to Baylor is 50,000 people . Large classes, very competitive for top spots , world ranked careers in many fields .Hope that helped

But this happened back in the late 1970s.Baylor has a program for high school students in the summer between their junior and senior years.Summer Programs for JuniorsApplicants need good test scores, high class standing or GPA, and a recommendation from counselor or principal. I submitted my application, and within about a week I got a response, could I be at the admissions office at 8 a.m. on a certain date.So I drove down. Got to the building a few minutes early. The admissions offive was not yet open. It was already summer — the campus was quiet. In a bit a student employee comes down the hall and opens the office, asks me what I am doing there, so I explain that I have an appointment to see the director of admissions (I used his name, not title, but just can’t remember what it was). She tells me he’s not in yet but she’ll go find my file to have it ready for him.A few minutes later this older guy walks in, the girl comes up to him and tells him who I am and that I’ve said I have an appointment but she can’t find my file anywhere. He tells her, that’s because it’s on my desk. He turns to me and says, come on back.We go to his office and sit down, and he opens this folder, looks at it a moment, and says, so, you think you want to come to Baylor? I said yes, and expressed my interest in a particular program. He opens a drawer, pulls out a rubber stamp, stamps one of the forms in my folder, and says “welcome to Baylor”. The whole procedure lasted maybe 5 minutes.He then guided me over to academic advising, introduced me to the head of that department, who also had a file of my information on the desk, and we picked out a communications (speech) course and a religion (new testament survey) course that are slated for the 2nd summer session and both met at different hours in the morning.Easy peasy.After that, I took some Junior College classes at night during my Senior year (using the Baylor transcript to qualify for admission to the JC), then got admitted to Baylor as a transfer student from the Junior College.

One of these is Texas A & M in College Station, and the other is Baylor University. Truthfully, it is hard to compare and all are in the same general league, but certainly the UofT MD/PhD program is generally considered to be one of the most competitive MD/PhD programs in Canada due to a strong medical school and also a large breadth of basic science and clinical research as well as being located in a desirable location.

I would suggest you call the dept in which you would like to get a degree and asked to meet with an advisor. If that meeting you'll need to take all of your transcripts of any college hours that you have. If you can't easily meet with an advisor perhaps you can have a conference call. Also if you will look on their website at the degree plan that should be in their undergraduate or graduate catalog for whatever degree it is that you want there should be a listing. Make sure you look at the most current catalog. Where an advisor can help is sometimes there can be substitutions four classes. Also some degrees have GPA requirements and others don't.
