After about 15 minutes I’d settled on a gen 4 Glock 19. The store was running a special on the gen 4s and I received a free box of ammunition, as well as an extra magazine. Awesome.Next up it was time to go through the background check and pay. I had to wait, because there was an older guy and his son in front of me. He was purchasing the gun for his son (because he wasn’t 21) - apparently his son was joining a junior police academy and needed a handgun. Well, his background check came back - he had some kind of domestic abuse charge - no gun for you, no gun for your son. The owner of the gun shop chastised him for even wasting her time since he clearly knew that was on his record.My turn. They ran my details, everything came back clean and it was time to pay. Something people may not realize is that guns aren’t cheap. Mine was close to $500. That’s a decent chunk of change and puts them out of many people’s signNow economically. Of course, I’d imagine criminals acquire weapons for much less - but then again they don’t go through the proper channels.Great, background check cleared, I’ve paid and ready to go. The guy behind the counter bags things up and hands it to me - then the owner starts berating him. Apparently by putting the newly purchased gun (still in the case) and the box of ammunition, into the same bag they were setting me up to get a felony when I walked out of the store. They also gave me specific instructions about putting the gun and/or ammo in the trunk of my car - NOT the passenger compartment. Again, throwing the now two separate shopping bags into my back seat would have potentially been criminal (felony).This is where things get crazy. In Ohio, you can load up a gun - put it in a holster (on the outside of your clothes) and walk around in most public places. But, as soon as you cover up the gun - or get into a car with it - you’re breaking the law (felony) unless you’ve gotten a special license/permit. This requires more background checks, fingerprinting, attending a class, paying more money, etc.Now, let’s say you’re all about following the letter of the law and you go through all of these steps so that you can carry your gun in your car. Things don’t get easier - because each state can be different. Despite having a permit, passing the background checks, etc - if you happen to drive into Chicago you could be in a lot of trouble. Apparently, you can drive right through with no problems, but if you step foot outside of your car (even to get gas, even if you leave the gun in the car) you’re now in a world of trouble (felony). It makes you wonder why Chicago has so much gun violence when the gun laws there are so strict.The laws are very strict for gun owners, they can be very confusing, and it seems, by definition, only followed by law abiding citizens.

Personally, I feel filling forms are never fun, We can just make it less boring with some techniques. As far as,the fun element is concerned, they can always be added through visual aids. Our mind fundamentally is more of a visual tool than that of a Textual tool. Even the  fun elements can be added as part of design, here are some suggestions:Lets reduce the Cognitive load with adding simple interaction elements like Buttons, sliders, drop down menu. The idea is to include the natural human tendency to act in a certain way. A lot of animations and Jquery can actually make the form unusable.The Visual Load can be reduced with keeping the basic eye movements under consideration while designing the fields.  In below image we can see how designing form in certain way can lower visual load. The Motor load can be diminished with the use of larger intuitive buttons.I am writing down some of the ideas that I know with which we can make Form Filling Less cumbersome if not playful or fun, You may add in comments too.The idea is create Engagement/Interactions not forms. Instead, to the join the service new members simply have to send Tripit a travel confirmation email. From this email, Tripit creates an account and extracts the information it needs to create a rich travel plan for new members. No form required. People sign up for Tripit by using it and learning what the application can do for them.A different type of Sign Up form  Minimize the Key Inputs, try to make it point and click for web and Touch oriented for Mobiles.Using Web Services for Login : Web services allow people to log-in to a new service using their profile and contact information from other Web sites. The idea here is to make use of information people have already provided elsewhere instead of having them fill it all in again on your sign-up form.Other Communication Tools like Email. Tripit already uses it, Posterous, which is a blogging service, let you write a blog post in your email, attach a photo, send it over to Posterous, and they'll essentially publish that whole thing for you, no need to ever get out of your email client. The idea is that input can come from anywhere. You can use your email client to provide input. You can use your IM client to provide input. You can use Twitter, or you can use your calendar. You can use book marklets or browser extensions. Mad Libs forms ask people the same questions found in typical sign-up forms in a narrative format. They present input fields to people as blanks within sentences. Create Data Extractions points at various points of user interaction.  Asking people for information once they are already using an application is often more successful than asking them before they start using the application. These days linkedin.com is trying to do the same.

Constantly.In 11th grade, we had to write a parody of a famous work. We would then have to read the entire thing in class. Most students parodied a short story, or a poem.I parodied Hamlet. Nailed that lesson.Oh, and the time my physics teacher was filling out the form for students going to Science Olympiad and I told him my address was 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. But I spelled it out (one-six-zero-zero P-E-N-N-…) so he totally went with it.Or when I learned how to make the same whistle as the wind would make in that same physics classroom. When that whistle started up, my physics teacher frantically closed the windows because the sound drove him nuts. It took him a couple of days to figure out I was making the sound.But my favorite had to be Spanish lab. We had this classroom where everyone wore headphones with a microphone. We all had to speak along with what was being said, and she could randomly make one person in the room audible to everyone else.So I practiced impersonating the voice of the person who did the Spanish voice. I remember it like it was yesterday… “Listo? Empiece. Numero Uno….”I kinda knew she’d pick me first, and when she did she was convinced that the machine was broken. She kept coming back to me and hearing not my voice but the voice of the Spanish narrator.Got out of a whole day of Spanish homework thanks to that little stunt.So, I love it when students troll me. But only when they do it in an intelligent and creative way. That’s the gold right there.Looking back on it, I guess I started my career in devastations younger than I thought…

I think I can answer this question as I have some experience as Customs Inspector. I will limit my answer to C & CE. I was selected as Central Excise Inspector through SSC CGL 2011. In Gujarat, Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax are together unlike in Mumbai. Officers are rotated in these departments every 4 yrs. I was posted as Customs Inspector first at Surat for 5 months and then at Ahmedabad including Airport posting.In field formation, as Customs Inspector, the officer has to inspect and examine imported goods as well as export goods at Port/ICD. At internatinal airports, i think you already know the work of a Customs Officer. There are desk jobs also where the officer has to do file work like permissions, adjudication, legal, audit etc. Usually field formation posting and HQ postings rotated alternately yearwise.Now I am posted as Central Excise Inspector in Delhi Zone (transferred on ICT). Excise posting is usually desk job except preventive work/audit. As Sector Officer in Range, the officer has the jurisdiction over certain manufacturer units.Overall experience in the department so far is good and satisfying. But then definition of satisfaction is subjective. Decent salary, decent work, reputation. Only cons is stagnation. It takes almost 20-25 years to signNow Class I (Assistant Commissioner). Promotions are fast in Income Tax as compare to C & CE.
