Yes. 20/20 isn't even perfect vision. That was just what was measured on Mr. Snellen.In fact, you still have 20/20 vision. Your lenses are slightly bulging outward preventing the light from focusing on the eye.You caused this problem. Genetics did not cause this problem.The lens bends to focus on near objects and relaxes to focus on far away objects.Look across the room at something and the near objects are out of focus. Likewise, look at a near object and the far away objects are out of focus in the background.This process of focusing is known as accomodation. The muscles of accomodatiom bend the lens to focus on near objects and relax the lens to focus on objects far away.When you watch a screen like a cellphone or tv, the eye is tricked repeatedly into focusing at the incorrect distance. One moment the eye focuses beyond the screen slightly and the next moment the eye focuses slightly in front of the physical screen. This is due to the non-uniform illumination from the screen. The screen is not uniform from pixel to pixel and the screen is not uniformly lit on individual pixels. The light literally changes intensity thousands of times a second and the lenses of the eye flex and relax continually trying to adjust to the “correct focal length”.SCREENS CAUSE MYOPIA. It is a fact. The non-uniform light cause the eye to flex and bend the lens and the lens gets bent outward from the face.To avoid this your problems of myopia aka nearsightedness:Limit tv watchingKeep a light on when watching tvDo not read by candlelight like Ben FranklinAs soon as you feel “eye strain”, take a bresk from the screensUnderstand that the lens is being bent from getting pumped up continually and just because you can still see clearly up close does not mean your lenses are not bent. It is just easier to see near object because the bent lenses have to be bent slightly less to focus on near objects.Practice with printable Snellen charts from online. Know what the letters are and practice relaxing into seeing the letters. Do not squint as that is an artificial way to focus. Start by standing or sitting (i put the Snellen chart 10 feet from my desk chair) and relax into seeing the objects on the 20 foot line at work breaks. I do this with other text across the room and ensure my vision stays better than 20/20. You can't lie to yourself and you don't need to “practice” if you are careful of screens.Sleep in total darkness to rest the lensesSome people massage the eyes gently because you lens is now more curved outward from the face. Please, be gentle and patient. Your deformity took a while to become noticeable and it will take a while to get the lens back in shape.Limit computer reading. Print documents instead of reading on the screen.Learn to listen and look away very often when watching tv or youtube videos. You can always rewind something if needed butnthisnis a cultural change. There is not very much information conveyed visually as the actors stay in mostly the same scene and you can get a good idea of what is going on without staring.Know that electronic ink does not cause myopia. These pixels are made from crystals that change shape and reflect light into the eye. If your light bulb or the sun is steady you will not get myopia from these screens. Only black electronic ink is widely available. Color versions of Nook and Kindle still use regular illuminated pixels which cause myopia/nearsightedness.Books on paper may even help your myopia because the eye is held at one focal distance that may change a few times a second. But it is not causing the lens to change thousands of times a second. I find reading a bookndoes not cause myopia and actually has helped improve my vision. It is easier than practicing with a Snellen Chart but not as effective.Other tricks I use include Aleve (naproxen sodium) to relax the eyes' muscles of accomodation if I did a lot of computer work at my job. This is only meant as an occasional hack. The screen use also should be stopped at this time.I also use cold water but be careful you dont change the lens too drastically. Instead of starting by cupping your hands and dunking you open eye into cold water in your hands, you may have to try rubbing cold water on the eyelids or something less traumatic at first.Also, relax the eyes often and get regular exercise as you are trying to get circulation to help in reforming the lens tissue. Also, some fat loss can help the lens begin to reshape as well.Notice all the typos in this answer. I wrote this on a phone. Not many will view this answer but I will not sacrifice my eye health. Maybe if I had time to go on a computer and print out my answer or quickly make the corrections I would be ok.

SMILE is not independentof corneal thickness. In SMILE instead of ablating the cornea, similar thickness lenticule is made in the deeper layers of cornea using a femtosecond laser and the lenticule is removed. Yes it has a slightly higher limit in regards to corneal thickness but it is not totally independent of corneal thickness. -7.00 is an extreme case for LASIK/laser based refractive surgeries. Some opthhalmologists perofrm a procedure called LASIK+ (ie LASIK+Collagen cross linking) if your corneal thickness is in borderline limits.However you can consider ICL (implantable collamer lens) implantation. It is a thin lens that is implanted in between the iris and your natural lens inside the eye. It is a relatively safe procedure and some studies have also shown that quality of vision wiuth ICL is better than quality of vision after LASIK.

I never got a good look at this person and have never seen them or their care ever since.I was doing my normal 30 minute run of the day and I would usually finish my run at a dead end street, where I would give myself a 5 minute break. Once signNowing my stop, I would always go right under a tree to block the burning sun and rest. I was a bit hidden by the tree, so no one would be able to spot me unless they truly tried.I was in the middle of having my drink, when I noticed a navy blue Ford Explorer with tinted windows make a stop right next to the empty road, almost right beside me. I continued drinking my water, but stopped when the driver slid their window fully down. I couldn't see the driver well, because the driver seat was facing the opposite way from me. So I was only able to see the silhouette of the driver through the tinted windows.I was able to hear a commotion going on in the car, but after the driver put down their window, all I heard then were two children, a boy and a girl, repeatedly crying out, “Please don’t do it mom! Please don’t do it!” I was a bit interested in what they were talking about, so I hid a bit more, so that I wouldn't be seen snooping. The mother, who was the driver, kept telling them to shut up and in her exact words said “Shut up! Shut up, you crybabies! I have enough trouble caring for you two! I'll be damned if I have to care for these stupid things!”Through the tinted window, I was able to see her pick up what seemed to be an open cardboard box that was small enough to fit through the window, but big enough to put a variety of small objects in. The children kept screaming, “NO! NO!”. As a speeding car was coming down the road, she threw the box right in its path without giving it a chance to react. At that moment, I heard tiny meows coming from in the box as it flew through the air towards the ground. I froze in horror as the box hit the front tire of the speeding car and the box went right under. All heard as the box went under the tire was a disturbing wet crackling noise that still haunts me to this day.By the time the car fully ran over the box, the mother with her children were long gone, speeding the opposite direction of the other car. I couldn’t believe what I just saw. I just stood still and watched as the man came out of his car to see what he ran over. I was hoping that it was anything other than what I thought it was. To my horror, the man pulled out the now almost fully flat box and it was oozing out this bright reddish liquid, which I believe was blood. The man took one look in the box and immediately threw up on his car. The man dropped the flat box, went in his car, and drove away.I was so stunned that I stared at the box for a good ten seconds. I couldn't believe I witnessed this. I knew what was in the box, but I refused to believe it. My sick curiosity wanted to see what was truly inside that box. I didn’t want to believe that there were kittens in there. I finally came out of my daze and went across the street towards the box. The closer I got, the faster my heart began to beat. Standing right over it, I saw the small opening the man left as he peeked inside. Looking inside the box was the biggest mistake of my life. What I saw was the most traumatizing image that still sticks to me to this day. I won’t describe it because just thinking about the image makes me sick.After seeing what was inside, it was for a fact that inside the box was a group of disfigured, flat baby kittens that weren't even given a chance to live another day. How could she? I said to myself. How could anyone be so disgusting? I knew there was nothing I could do, so instead of leaving the box on the ground exposed, I put it in a nearby garbage can. The box left a red stained road with a bit of the box left on it and all I did right after was walk straight home, leaving behind my bottle of water at the tree where this all started.I wanted to share this story because I had it as a secret from my family at home and I don't plan on ever telling them. Just writing this story was a huge struggle for me. As you can see on my profile picture, I own an orange male cat that I have taken care of since birth. I’m not real clear on your question, but I’m going to assume you can read the 20/20 line with both eyes open, but only the 20/25 line with each eye individually. This is not uncommon, almost everyone sees better with two eyes than with one. This may be due to the summation of stimulus signNowing the visual cortex.

Yes , if they had an eyesight correction operation if suitable for him/her .but there's no natural ways for that because the deterioration of eyesight is a part of the aging process of the lens that can't be reversed .Or you can resort to the classical methods as glasses and contact lenses .

Many people think that 20/20 means "perfect" vision but that is not true at all. 20/20 merely means that you can identify a particular size of letter (about 8.7mm tall) from 20 feet away.If you can do this without glasses or contact lenses you are said to have 20/20 VISION.If you need either glasses or contact lenses to do it that means your VISUAL ACUITY is 20/20.Some people are able to read even smaller letters from 20 feet unaided and they have better than 20/20 vision and some people only see quite poorly with bare eyes but can see the even smaller letters using their glasses or contact lenses.

I would strongly recommend reading Mike Massimino’s autobiography, “Spaceman”.Firstly, because it is one of the best books I've ever read - or heard. (I listened to it on Audible, as he narrates it himself and does an amazing job.)Secondly, because he answers this question. He had an issue with his eyes, which required much work. (He became an astronaut before Lasik was a thing.) What he says is that astronauts don't need 20/20 vision, but their sight has to be correctable to 20/20. And again, that's to become an astronaut. Once you're in, you're golden. (Well, going blind would put a definite crimp in your going to the ISS, but other than that…)Example: Clayton Anderson tore up his knee right after being selected as an AsCan. (I believe it was Clayton…) No problem. And Story Musgrave got serious frostbite on one hand during an eight hour training exercise. It was literally years before he had full fine motor control in that hand - but it certainly didn't stop him flying in the Shuttle!(Admittedly, I'm not sure a meteor strike would have slowed down Story Musgrave. The man basically wrote the book on EVAs and was a force to be reckoned with at NASA.)
