MLK was never assasinated, thus he is still alive.If MLK was still alive the question is if he would have managed to bring about (more) change or not. Would he have managed to achieve some or all the criterias?If YES, then he would say “My dream is now a reality, and I am satisfied ”. But then also, we all would have noticed and felt the fulfillment of the criterias.If NOT, then he would say “There's still work to be done to fulfill my dream.”Viewpoint 2. MLK rises from the dead today and looks around.MLK would say “my dream has remained just that, a dream. And that means that the situation over the years regardless of technological improvements and what not, even the supposed effect of my assassination has not helped to fulfill my dream. I'm disappointed but I ask you all to work towards achieving my dream. It is in your own best interest. “

It’s a common misconception that the Civil Rights movement was all about MLK. His contribution was vital and legendary but the movement consisted of tens of thousands of people who rose up. There were dozens of leaders below King in his organization and dozens more in other organizations that made the movement possible. If he had never lived, there would have been another King somewhere along the line, and even without that person, the uprising would have been unstoppable.
