The deadline for ONLINE ONLY is March 15. Submissions received from February 1-February 22 will be included in print and online. Submissions received from February 23-March 15 will be included online only. Papers or proposals received after March 15 will not be considered for publication (NO EXCEPTIONS). Extensions Policy To simplify the submission process, ASCO now offers a submission window for ASCO Educational Book manuscripts for your convenience and, as such, is no longer granting individual deadline extensions. We strongly encourage you to contact and coordinate with the other speakers in your session and colleagues you wish to invite well in advanced of the deadlines to ensure you meet your publication goals. Original Work Policy All submissions must be original work not previously published and must be supported by evidence cited within the paper. Rarely, we will accept articles that do not lend itself to this format. If there is concern, please reach out to the editorial team. Peer Review All manuscripts undergo independent peer review from 2-3 members of our expert panel and an additional review by the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, or member of the ASCO Meetings and Member Publications editorial board. Authors may be asked to respond to the reviewers’ comments and/or revise their manuscripts. Disclosure of Potential Conflicts of Interest Disclosures of potential conflicts of interest (COI) are REQUIRED for all authors. ASCO’s complete COI policy can be viewed here. Faculty authors are prompted to complete COI disclosures through the Speaker Center upon acceptance of their role in the Meeting and no further action is required to report these. Non-faculty authors must complete a conflict of interest disclosure using ASCO’s COI Database. COIs reported in the manuscript body are not allowed and will be removed. All COIs must be reported through ASCO’s COI Database. Reprint Permission and Fees Policies The manuscript author is solely responsible for obtaining reprint permissions. ASCO staff can provide guidance on how to obtain permissions but cannot obtain permissions on behalf of the authors. 2019 ASCO Educational Book 2 Author Guidelines Any figure, table, or other material that is reprinted from an existing source MUST have written reprint permission secured from the original publisher/copyright holder directly by the author. Any licensing fees payable to the original publisher or copyright holder for reuse are the responsibility of the manuscript author(s) and will not be reimbursed by ASCO. Standard Session-based Article • Authored by Annual Meeting faculty • Expand upon the topics to be presented during the authors’ sessions/presentations • Organized in the book by track. • Submission of a combined manuscript is highly preferred. Combined Articles (Preferred) • One or more of the session speakers, including the session chair, should collaborate to submit a jointly authored manuscript. • Chairs typically provide oversight of manuscript development and delegate writing assignments. • Nonfaculty coauthors may also be invited to write sections. • Approximately 5,000 words in length. b. Individual Articles • Authored by only one session faculty member • Up to two nonfaculty coauthors may be invited to write section • Any authors who wish to submit an individual manuscript MUST notify the session chair and other speakers first and contact edbook@asco.org • Approximately 4,000 words in length 2.
